POLICE have launched a rape investigation after three men pulled a woman into a lane as she walked along a street.

Officers looking into the incident had initially been treating the attack, involving a 24-year-old female, as a sexual assault.

But it emerged on Sunday that Police Scotland has upgraded the inquiry.

The woman was grabbed on Pollokshaws Road on Glasgow's south side, on Saturday night.

The victim was near Torrisdale Street between 11pm and 12.45am when three men shouted comments at her, pulled her into a lane and raped her.

The victim managed to get help at a nearby bar, the Allison Arms.

The men are described as Asian and aged 30 to 34.
