Woman sexually assaulted in Kirriemuir

Police have appealed for information after a 43-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.

The woman was attacked after being approached by a man as she walked across a grassy area behind Hillbank Terrace in the Angus town of Kirriemuir between 6.30pm and 7.30pm yesterday.

The man is described as being of slim build, police said.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "The area has been cordoned off to allow officers to examine the scene and specialist officers are speaking to the victim in order to ascertain further information."

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101.
