Sheku Bayoh's partner and three sisters are to meet with a cross-party group of MSPs at the Scottish Parliament.

Mr Bayoh - a father of two - died in custody after an incident in Kirkcaldy, Fife, in as yet unexplained circumstances involving up to nine officers in May.

A female officer was injured in the alleged incident.

Mr Bayoh's partner Collette Bell and sisters Kadi Johnson, Adama Jalloh and Kosna Bayoh along with his brother-in-law Ade Johnson are due to meet MSPs at Holyrood on Thursday.

Aamer Anwar, the Bayohs' lawyer, said: "The family of Sheku Bayoh will be taking their fight for justice to the Scottish Parliament.

"It has now been 22 weeks since Sheku Bayoh died in police custody on the streets of Kirkcaldy."

The case is currently being examined by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc) watchdog and an interim report has been lodged with Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland.

Mr Anwar said Claire Baker, Fife Labour MSP, has organised the meeting to "allow the Bayoh family to brief Holyrood politicians on the background to the case as well as their concerns with regards to the Pirc investigation".
