Police are searching for a 15-year-old girl who has not been seen for five days
Teenager Nikita Ryan has been missing since around 10pm on Saturday, January 30, when it is believed she travelled by bus from Tranent to Edinburgh.
Described as 5ft 2ins, and of slim build with long auburn coloured hair, it is thought that, at the time, she was wearing a black leather jacket with a fur collar, denim jeans and tan coloured Ugg boots.
Nikita knows Edinburgh well, particularly the south east of the city. where she has a number of friends.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have any information about her whereabots to come forward immediately.
Inspector Neil Mitchell, who is based in Dalkeith, said: "We're carrying out various lines of inquiry in an effort to trace Nikita safe and well.
"Today, I ask anyone who has seen Nikita to please contact police.
"I also appeal to Nikita directly to make contact to let us know that you are safe and well," he added.
Anyone who can help in the investigation should call 101 or speak to any officer.
