Barry Henderson, 41, from Fraserburgh, was charged with murder
A man has appeared in court charged with murder over a fatal fire in Fraserburgh almost 18 years ago.
Gordon Graham, 43, died in the fire in High Street in the Aberdeenshire town in May 1998. His wife was rescued from a window by firefighters.
Police made a number of re-appeals for information over the years and said on Wednesday a man had been arrested over the fire.
Barry Henderson, 41, from Fraserburgh, was charged with murder and attempted murder at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Thursday.
He made no plea or declaration and was released on bail ahead of a further court appearance, the Crown Office said.
