MEMBERS of the public have been urged no to approach a prisoner who has absconded from an open prison in Dundee.

A manhunt has been launched after inmate Brian Travers, 43, went on the run from HMP Castle Huntly at 10am on Friday 8 July.

The 43-year-old is described as being six feet tall, slim build, clean shaven and completely bald.

It is believed he has connections in the Fife and Edinburgh areas.

If seen, members of the public are being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.

Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through the charity Crimestoppers.
