RAIL services are returning to normal after a woman was struck by a train near Falkirk Grahamston station.

Trains were temporarily suspended between Edinburgh and Dunblane following the incident at 7.40am. Services between Glasgow Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston were also disrupted, with trains terminating at Cumbernauld.

Passengers were asked to board services to Falkirk High instead, where buses took them to Falkirk Grahamston.

Emergency services were forced to close the line while investigations into the adult female's death were carried out.

The line reopened around 10am and services are returning to normal.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said the incident was "non-suspicious".

A spokeswoman for ScotRail added: "We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by this tragic incident.”
