THREE road schemes in the south of Scotland worth nearly £70 million have moved a step closer as the Scottish Government announced details of the bidding process to build them.

Four companies will bid for the £21m Symington to Bogend Toll scheme, which will introduce two flyover junctions on the A77 south of Kilmarnock.

A shortlist has also been selected for the £26m A75 Dunragit Bypass which will provide three miles of road past the village between Stranraer and Glenluce in Dumfries and Galloway.

A formal notice for the £20m Hardgrove to Kilnmount scheme in Dumfriesshire will be issued at the end of the month, inviting bidders to tender interest.
