30 killed in Mali ethnic clashes

BAMAKO:

Around 30 ethnic Tuaregs have been killed in northern Mali's Gao region in localised fighting with ethnic Peuls, the Ministry of Defence said yesterday. "It was score-settling between Peuls and Tuaregs in the Djebok district," said Defence Minister Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga. He added that fighting between the two groups happened frequently.
