Apology for tap water pollution


The chairman of Lanzhou Veolia Water Co has apologised after a cancer-inducing chemical was found in tap water supplied by the company.

Yao Xin spoke after benzene was found in tap water supplied by the company, which is partly owned by a subsidiary of French utility Veolia Environnement, forcing a switch-off of supplies last month.
