Disgraced Bo faces court

DISGRACED Chinese politician Bo Xilai has been expelled from the ruling Communist Party and will face corruption and other criminal charges.

It is the latest step in a scandal that has overshadowed a political transition now set to take place in early November.

The party's Politburo said Bo, who had been a candidate for top office until caught up in a scandal that included the murder of British businessman Neil Heywood, will face charges of abuse of power, bribe taking and improper relations with a number of women.
