Alan Eustace, a senior Google vice-president, has set a new skydiving record after jumping from near the top of the stratosphere, at an altitude of over 25 miles.

During the dive, Eustace broke the previous record set in 2012 by Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner. The dive was said to be part of a project led by Arizona-based Paragon Space Development Corporation. Eustace jumped from a helium balloon over Roswell, New Mexico and reached a speed of 800 miles per hour as he fell, reportedly setting off a sonic boom.
