Hopes of talks with separatists

BANGKOK: The authorities and separatist rebels could be inching towards talks after nine years of violence and the loss of more than 5000 lives in Thai regions bordering Malaysia.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra may ask her Malaysian counterpart, Najib Razak, to help make contact with rebel groups at a meeting tomorrow.
