A MAN has died and several people were injured as tornadoes caused havoc in the US state of Oklahoma.
The body of a 79-year-old man was found in an open area of a neighbourhood near the town of Shawnee, where a mobile home park was severely damaged by a tornado.
Homes in a trailer park were turned into splinters and rubble, sending residents running for shelter.
At least four tornadoes swept through Oklahoma, while Kansas and Iowa were also hit hard by a massive storm system that stretched from Texas to Minnesota.
