New Taliban chief back from hideout

ISLAMABAD:

The new chief of the Pakistani Taliban, Mullah Fazlullah, has returned to his homeland from a mountain hideout in Afghanistan to lead the insurgency, sources said. Mr Fazlullah is known for his hard-line beliefs and rejection of peace talks with the Pakistani government. Hakimullah Mehsud, above, his predecessor, was killed in a US drone strike last month.
