I AM puzzled. When Remainers in the Brexit vote lost the BBC opined that the vote 52 per cent for and 48 per cent against was marginal, yet when Austria's far right party lost in its recent vote 47 per cent to 53 per cent, the BBC decided the result was decisive.
A semantic quibble or bias?

I NOTE with interest the comments of Douglas Mayer (Letters, December 7). The argy-bargy by senior politicians over hard or soft Brexit is at best naive and wishful thinking and at worst dishonest.
The EU holds, all the "negotiating" cards while we're left with the jokers.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
