A Scottish Conservative spokesman says “there is no law banning politicians – or anyone else – from becoming involved in companies which happen to be registered in Bermuda” (Tory MP’s £70k of shares in world’s ‘worst’ tax haven, News, August 13). But it must leave a nasty taste in the mouths of those who voted for Alister Jack in the General Election. How can such a wealthy MP identify with his constituents and look to scrutinise the whole ethos of a decent and fair taxation system?
