YOUR correspondent Bill Eadie (Letters, April 16) suggests that only taxpayers should have a vote in general elections. This effectively disenfranchises anyone earning under £11,850 or those with no earnings at all. Perhaps we should go further and allow all taxpayers one vote then a further vote for each pound of tax paid. This would ensure we were governed by millionaires and toffs. On second thoughts, that seems to be happening already.
