PUNTERS in Edinburgh will be able to watch tomorrow's indyref count in the pub - but those in Scotland's other big cities will not.

Eight pubs in the capital have received late-licences for the big night with another two going through the application process.

However, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen councils all confirmed they had issued no such licences.

Samantha Roberts, landlady of the Phoenix Bar in Broughton Street, said she expected to be busy.

She said: "We will be serving alcohol up to 3am and then coffee and bacon butties after that. We have four tellies and they will all be showing the count."

Also serving alcohol until 3am is the Kilderkin, on Canongate, close to the Scottish Parliament.

"We are expecting a lot of tired and thirsty camera crews," its barman said. The SNP Club has also been given a late licence. Just one bar has a 5am licence, the Radical Road on Willowbrae Road.
