Nicola Sturgeon left some unhappy hacks in her wake in Kirkcaldy yesterday (wed)

After waiting patiently for the First Minister to tour offices, pose for countless snaps and finish six broadcast interviews, print journos were told there was no time left for the customary 'huddle' with the scribblers.

Former LibDem leader Charlie Kennedy has received a welcome boost in his battle for re-election.

Mr Kennedy, who is coming under intense pressure from the SNP's Ian Blackford in Ross, Skye and Lochaber, has raised more than £6,500 in small donations through an online crowdfunder, smashing an initial target of £5,000. Mr Blackford's own crowdfunding page, meanwhile, has raised £4,405.

"It really is very humbling," said Mr Kennedy, who has big plans for the windfall... he'll spend it on extra leaflets.
