Labour has claimed that the SNP have 'zero plans' to end Tory austerity in a series of posts on social media.

Labour made the claims on Twitter earlier today, asking followers to retweet their posts.

Ed Miliband has ruled out a formal coalition, after repeated calls for him to do so, saying there will be no SNP ministers in any government he leads.

However, last week Nicola Sturgeon claimed that Miliband was "clinging to the pretence" that he has a chance of winning an overall majority in the election and said her party was still open to an arrangement with Labour.

Last month the Scottish Government published its latest economic strategy - which scrapped SNP proposals for a three-point cut in corporation tax in favour of a more targeted approach, if Holyrood wins control over the charge.

It insisted that its economic policies offered an alternative to spending cuts from Westminster, however Labour claimed the SNP proposals would result in "austerity max".

Labour's posts caused controversy on Twitter, with social media users pointing out that Labour voted to continue with the Tories austerity measures.
