THE SNP has increased its lead over Labour, meaning a near wipeout for the party north of the order, according to a new poll.

The Panelbase survey of 1000 voters for the Sunday Times and Heart FM found support for the SNP up three points in the last three weeks to 48 per cent.

Backing for Labour was down two points to 27 percent.

The numbers suggest the SNP will win 53 of Scotland's 59 seats, with Labour losing all but five of the 41 constituencies in won in 2010, denying Ed Miliband a majority.
