A new poll suggests Labour and the Tories are still effectively neck and neck in the race for Downing Street.

The survey by TNS UK puts Labour on 33% (down 1%), the Conservatives on 34% (up 2%).

Meanwhile, the survey puts the Liberal Democrats on 7% (down 1%), Ukip on 15%, the Greens on 5% and other parties on 5% (down 1%).

Jamie Willard, director at TNS UK, said, "Despite the noise and bluster the polls are not breaking for either the Conservatives or Labour. As polling day approaches, attention is turning to what happens if no party secures an overall majority.

"As the smaller parties continue to poll strongly, it suggests a fragmented system and a Britain in political flux."

TNS Omnibus interviewed 1,186 adults across the UK between April 23-27 2015.
