JIMMY CALDERWOOD will today make his return to football when he is confirmed officially as the new manager of De Graafschap in the Netherlands.

The Scot has been out of the game since leaving after a short spell in charge of Go Ahead Eagles and had complained that he was being ignored for jobs in his home country.

His time spent without a club will have jarred with a coach who could count Dunfermline Athletic, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and Ross County among the clubs he has managed. He led both Dunfermline and Aberdeen into Europe while he was in charge.
