TONY WATT could clinch a £1 million move to Cardiff City if he impresses on loan from Charlton.

The former Celtic and Scotland Under 21 striker was surprisingly allowed to leave The Valley to move to Wales on a short-term loan.

And both clubs have agreed a seven-figure fee for Watt if he does well under City boss Russell Slade.

Ex-Standard Liege star Watt is keen to prove himself after netting seven goals in 24 games for Charlton.

He said: “I was in the gym on Wednesday and my agent rang me and said Charlton are willing to send you on loan.

"I said okay and he told me about Cardiff and I knew the manager was interested for a few weeks so I was delighted obviously when I got it over the line and done.

"Cardiff are a big club. I would be lying if I said I’m not nervous and not excited about it. Obviously I want to hit the ground running and score some goals."
