MARK Warburton has revealed Rangers have failed in a bid to stop their Ladbrokes Championship match against Morton being moved to a Friday night.
The Glasgow club's meeting with their Greenock rivals has been moved from Saturday, March 12, following advice from Police Scotland.
That is due to the Premiership match between Partick Thistle and Celtic at Firhill being played in the city on the same afternoon.
The Ibrox club had requested the SPFL change the kick-off time or play the game on the Sunday so their supporters weren't inconvenienced.
However, Warburton has told how their appeals fell on deaf ears and the game with the 'Ton will now go ahead on Friday, March 11, with a 7.45pm kick-off time.
“It’s a problem for our supporters," said Warburton. "The club requested the game stayed on the Saturday or if it had to be moved then make it the following day but both appeals were rejected.
“People have booked ferries, flights and hotels. They are being inconvenienced financially. We understand it but it’s completely out-with the club’s control unfortunately.”
