Partick Thistle captain Abdul Osman has signed a new two-year deal at the club, keeping him at Firhill until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Osman’s contract had been due to expire this summer, and a number of clubs were credited with an interest in the midfielder. Inverness manager John Hughes publicly stated his desire to add Osman to his squad for next season, but Alan Archibald has persuaded him that his immediate future lies with Thistle.

Osman has made 74 appearances for the club since joining from Crewe Alexandra, scoring once, and was appointed captain last summer.
