Rangers are set to rename their Auchenhowie training base after chairman Dave King asked supporters for suggestions as part of a rebranding of the complex.

The Milgnavie facility was named after former Gers chairman Sir David Murray when it was opened in 2001 but has been referred to as 'Auchenhowie' within the club for some time.

And King will now make a recommendation to the Ibrox board over renaming the club's state-of-the-art training base after feedback from fans.

King said: "A number of questions were directed at the renaming of the Auchenhowie training facility.

"From the time that Craig Whyte took the Club over the name Murray Park slowly went out of use to the point that the facility is now referred to as Auchenhowie within the Club.

"However, in reviewing the questions on this subject it is clear that many of you feel that Auchenhowie is too bland and that the facility should be renamed after a Rangers icon.

"I therefore invite all supporters to submit recommendations for renaming Auchenhowie and, based on the response, I will make a recommendation to the Board at the next board meeting."
