Erik Cikos has terminated his contract at Ross County by mutual consent, the Highland club have announced.

The 28-year-old Slovakia international joined the Staggies initially on loan in January 2014, before signing a permanent deal last summer after leaving Slovan Bratislava.

The right-back has featured only seven times for County this season, his last appearance being against Rangers in November.

Manager Jim McIntyre told the Staggies' official website: "We'd like to wish Erik well with the next stage of his career.

"He enjoyed two spells at the club and we couldn't have asked more from him.

"An exciting opportunity came up for Erik that allows him to pursue more first-team football and we didn't want to stand in his way.

"I speak on behalf of all the coaching and playing staff when I say he leaves with all our best wishes for the future."
