ST MIRREN'S Paisley 2021 Stadium will be the venue for Scotland's opening European Under-21 Championship qualifier against the Netherlands.
Scot Gemmill's side begin their campaign on Tuesday 5 September, with a kick-off time yet to be confirmed.
Scotland then face a double-header against England and Latvia in October before later ties against Ukraine and Andorra as they bid to reach the finals in Italy in two years' time.
The nine group winners will book a spot at the tournament, while the four best runners-up will be rewarded with play-off spots.
Gemmill's side will go into the qualifiers in high spirits after securing a third-place finish at this summer's Toulon Tournament, beating Brazil, Indonesia and Czech Republic.
Every player from the Toulon squad will be available for selection during the Under-21 qualifying process.
Gemmill said: “We’re really looking forward to the start of the qualification campaign and the Netherlands will provide us with a great challenge in our opening match.
“We have played matches at the Paisley 2021 Stadium in recent times and it’s a fantastic venue with a great pitch and facilities.
“I remember Scotland Under-21s played the Netherlands in Paisley back in 2012 and nearly 7000 supporters packed out the stadium – the atmosphere was incredible.
“I hope we can attract similar numbers in September to cheer on the team and help get us off to a good start in the group.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
