JAK ALNWICK Kept his place in the side as he filled in for the injured Wes Foderingham once again. Had a shaky start and then could only watch on as the goals flew by him. Made a handful of decent stops to keep the score down but it was a lonely place between the sticks. 4
JAMES TAVERNIER Was one of the few to emerge with any credit at Hampden but he was powerless to prevent Celtic easing to victory once again. Another demoralising derby defeat for the Ibrox captain. 4
ROSS MCCRORIE Will have had his Hampden horror show in the back of his mind and he didn’t start well here. Couldn’t recover as he endured another tough outing. Outplayed by Edouard and was booked for a foul on the Frenchman. 4

RUSSELL MARTIN Is supposed to lead by example at the back but the experienced stopper had another afternoon to forget. Had to do better at all three first half goals, especially the second as Edouard beat him far too easily. It didn’t get any better after the break. 3
ANDY HALLIDAY Pitched in at left-back in what could be his final Old Firm outing. Was always going to be up against it in the battle with Forrest and the winger won the head-to-head in style. 3
GRAHAM DORRANS The game passed him by once again as he never got to grips with Celtic in the middle of the park. Another Old Firm no-show. Not good enough. 3
JASON HOLT Gave Rangers a much-needed energy in the middle of the park and forced Gordon into a smart save after being picked out by Murphy. Put in a shift but lack of quality was evident. 4
DANIEL CANDEIAS Contributed nothing in the opening exchanges and was posted missing at the first goal. Didn’t get much better after that for the Portuguese as he caused Celtic few problems down the right flank. 3
JOSH WINDASS A virtual passenger, once again, as he barely got a touch in an abject first half. Had to press Brown and Ntcham but was outclassed. First to be replaced and can have no complaints. 2
JAMIE MURPHY Looked dangerous on the few times he got the ball in the first half but couldn’t test Gordon coming in off the left. Influence diminished as Rangers were brushed aside. 4

JASON CUMMINGS Given the nod in the Old Firm encounter for the first time but was booked early doors for a tough tackle on Tierney. Lone striker’s role was a thankless task and he got no joy against Boyata and Ajer. 3
Substitutes:
ALFREDO MORELOS On for Windass before the hour mark and was given an ironic cheer from the home crowd. Denied by Gordon as his wait for a derby goal continues. 2
GREG DOCHERTY Replaced Dorrans for the final 20 minutes. Had no chance to influence proceedings against the green and white tide. 2
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
