Philippe Clement has revealed more key Rangers stars will be absent from Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren.

Rabbi Matondo and Abdallah Sima are both injury concerns, which adds to a lengthy list that includes long-term absentees; Ridvan Yilmaz, Ryan Jack, Danilo and Oscar Cortes.

Sima, who has netted 16 times since joining on-loan from Brighton, has sustained a hamstring injury but is hopeful that he can return before the campaign reaches a conclusion. While, Matondo was on the end of a sore tackle during the Scottish Cup clash with Heart of Midlothian last week and may not be risked too soon.

Rangers trail Celtic by three points in the title-race, with only five games remaining and Clement confessed it was far from ideal having pivotal players out at a crucial time in the season.

"Sima will be out, I hope to see him again this season he is very motivated for that," the Light Blues boss admitted.

"Matondo got a bad tackle against Hearts and is doubtful for the weekend.

"Ridvan and Jack I expect back in training next week."

On the extent of Sima's setback, Clement added: “We are in contact with Brighton about that for the next couple of weeks. I hope to see him playing again this season and he hopes that too.

“He is very motivated for that. He is a terrific lad, somebody with really strong mental strength, a really positive person so he wants to come back as fast as possible."
