UEFA have confirmed the maximum squad size for Euro 2024 sides has been increased.

The governing body have announced national team squads can now feature up to 26 players for the tournament finals in Germany.

Original rules had set a limit of 23 players to be selected by football associations for the tournament.

And that comes as a boost for Steve Clarke with further options available for his squad this summer.

Under the revised squad number ruling, teams must submit a squad list of between 23 and 26 players.

The deadline for the selection is June 7.

A UEFA statement confirmed: "The maximum squad size for #EURO2024 teams has been increased from the original quota of 23 to 26 players.

"Teams must provide a squad list containing between 23 and 26 players by 7 June."
