Scotland have named an experienced bowls squad for Glasgow 2014 with three gold medallists and 18 previous Commonwealth Games appearances between them.

Alex Marshall, who has a record 19 world titles to his name, will be looking to win his third gold medal in his fifth appearance.

He is joined in the 10-strong squad by Paul Foster, with whom he holds the world indoors and outdoors pairs titles and won Commonwealth pairs gold with in 2006.

Bothwell's Margaret Letham is the most experienced of the five women in the team as she prepares for a fifth successive Commonwealth Games appearance in Glasgow.

She won the pairs title in Kuala Lumpur in 1998, and is the world outdoors fours champion.

Lauren Baillie, from Port Seton in East Lothian, is the only Commonwealth Games debutant in the squad but, like Letham, she was also a member of the triumphant fours team at the 8 Nations last September in Kelvingrove Park, where this summer's bowls tournaments take place.

The squad also includes Darren Burnett, David Peacock, Neil Spiers, Caroline Brown, Claire Johnston and Lorraine Molloy.

Head coach David Gourlay will keep details of the events in which each bowler will play secret until June, for tactical reasons.

The announcement takes the number of Scots selected for the home games to 46.
