BORIS Johnson, Mayor of London, inspects the Queen's Baton as it reaches London on its journey through England to the Glasgow Commonwealth Grames.

The baton will arrive in Scotland next Saturday and tour the country before arriving in Glasgow on July 20 in the lead up to the July 23 opening ceremony.

Yesterday, it was announced the chief executive of this year's Games has been appointed head of the whole movement.

David Grevemberg will take up the post of chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) in November. He will take over from Mike Hooper, who has been in the post for 14 years at the CGF, which is responsible for the direction and control of the Games.

Mr Grevemberg, 41, has been chief executive of Glasgow 2014 since 2011, having previously been the organising committee's director of operations, and chief operating officer.
