Scotland will open their tour of South Africa with a game on Tuesday against a Highveld Lions side which includes Jean Symes, the Saltires' overseas player in last season's CB40 campaign.

It is the first of a T20 double-header which also pits Pete Steindl's new-look side against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Indian Premier League champions. "We couldn't face a much tougher start to the tour than these two games on the same day," said Steindl.

"But it will be a great experience for the guys to test themselves against some of the best T20 players in the world."

Both Lions and Knight Riders are facing the Scots as part of their preparations for the Champions League. The Saltires will play 13 matches during their month-long trip, adding three-day fixtures and 50-over games to their T20 schedule.
