Scotland to play Australia at the Grange

Scotland have agreed a lucrative match against Australia next summer.

The Saltires, who will also meet England later this season, will entertain Australia following their Ashes series south of the border.

The official one day international is scheduled to take place at the Citylets Grange on September 3.

"This provides an excellent focal point for our players and supporters in 2013," said Roddy Smith, Cricket Scotland's chief executive. "With Scotland ranked 15th for ODI cricket and 13th for T20 this will provide yet another excellent opportunity to show our loyal supporters how our young and home-grown team is developing.

"Hosting the world's top teams gives our players vital experience and is also exciting for the Scottish cricketing public."

The last time Australia visited Scotland, in 2009, a bumper crowd turned out. Gordon Goudie claimed five wickets despite a comfortable win for the visitors.
