CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that 13-year-old starlet Karamoko Dembele won't have to wait long to make his first team debut.

The midfielder shot to fame earlier this season when he made his bow for the Hoops Under-20 side alongside players seven years his senior.

Dembele has already represented Scotland at Under-16 level as well as the England Under-15 side and is eligible to play for three different nations.

“He’s played for Scotland, he’s played for England and he can actually play for the Ivory Coast as well," Rodgers told the Alan Brazil breakfast show on Talksport.

“He’s 14 in February, he’s a big talent and just needs the time to be nurtured and developed.

“But it won’t be long. If he keeps going the way he is going, he could be one of those boys who is in the team at a very young age.

“It’s nice for him. He’s enjoying his football, he gets looked after very well here at Celtic, he and the coaches here have a great trust in him.

“We hope in the next number of years he could be the next one coming through.”
