RANGERS have completed the £700,000 signing of Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias making him the seventh new face in total to arrive at Ibrox this summer.

The 29-year-old, who was with Benfica, has agreed a two-year deal which reunites him with Pedro Caixinha who he worked with previously at Nacional.

Candeias joins Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso and Dalcio, while Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos are waiting on work permits

And Rangers' spending spree is set to continue with the club believed to be close to agreeing terms with Norwich City for Graham Dorrans who are looking for a fee close to £1.5m for the 30-year-old midfielder who is keen to join the club he always supported.

Candeias, speaking to Rangers TV, admitted the biggest selling point for him was that he teamed up with Caixinha once again.

He said: "I am really happy, it is a really good opportunity for me to come to the club, it is a great club and I am looking forward to starting working with the team.

“It is a great club, especially because of the coach because of the project and message that he gave me and the idea he has for the team.

“Pedro called me and explained everything about the club and the project. Knowing him and hearing what he told me I would have never been able to say no to this project.

“I was excited from the first moment I got the call especially because of the history of the club. It is a big club in Europe and because of that I wanted to sign for the team.

“The coach knows me really well and it was with him, when we were at Nacional, that I gave my best performances and I believe he’ll be able to bring that out of me here once again."

Rangers lacked a few things last season, one of them being pace, which is something the latest signing hopes to bring.

Candeias said: "I am a fast player, I have technique but I would prefer other people to judge me, I don’t really like to say what kind of player I am.

“I play as a winger but first of all I want to help the team and I will do what the coach asks me to do and I’ll try to do that the best I can.

“I would prefer to play in my position but I would do whatever it takes to help the team and coach out.”

As with all the arrivals over the past few weeks, Candeias played to the gallery in terms of what he wanted to achieve at his new club.

He said: “Rangers is a club that everyone knows worldwide and I know it is the club with the most titles in Scotland.

“Because of that and the games I had the opportunity to watch before I gave the final okay to the coach the atmosphere, the supporters and the stadium all made me really excited.

“My wish is to come here and win more titles because that is what every player wants and I want to give the supporters what they deserve.

“I have seen the stadium for the first time today and it is fantastic, I wish I was in it when it was full with the atmosphere I have seen on the television.”

Candeias joined Benfica in 2014 but never made an appearance for the club. He have loan moved to FC Nürnberg in Germany, Spain's Granada CF in Spain and FC Metz in France.

Most recently he has been on loan at Alanyaspor in Turkey and the wide man played his last game in the Turkish Super League just last week. He made 30 appearances for Alanyaspor during the 2016/17 season scoring four goals.
