Kane Hemmings has ended speculation over his future by signing for the English side Barnsley.

The former Rangers striker, who won the SPFL Championship player of the year after scoring 24 goals for Cowdenbeath, had been a free agent since leaving the club last month.

He impressed while on trial with the ambitious American side Orlando City in May, scoring a disallowed goal against the Italian Serie A side Roma.

A host of Scottish clubs were also believed to be interested in the 22-year-old, including Hearts, Hibernian, Dundee, Dunfermline and Kilmarnock.
