City strengthen squad again with capture of Celtic striker

GLASGOW City have signed Alyshia Walker, the Scotland under-17 striker, from Celtic as they continue to build up their squad ahead of the new season.

Although she will not be 16 until April, Walker was a regular first-team player at Celtic. She has also scored 10 goals in just 12 games for Scotland, the last against Germany in the UEFA Women's U17 Championship finals two months ago.

Eddie Wolecki Black, the City head coach, said: "Once I knew we had the chance to sign Alyshia, it was a priority to get her on board.

"For one so young she plays with great maturity and I have high hopes she will develop into a top player."
