NORWEGIAN managerial legend Age Hareide has delivered a surprise snub to league-winning countryman Ronny Deila by insisting his current Malmo side are better than Celtic.

Deila joined ex-Norway manager Hareide, Stale Solbakken and Henning Berg as the only Norwegian managers to have won a league outside their own country after leading the Hoops to the Scottish title.

Hareide has twice won the league in Sweden with Molde and Malmo as well as leading Brondby to the Danish title, on top of winning his homeland league at Rosenborg.

His Malmo side are top of the Swedish League after beating Henrik Larsson's Helsingborgs in a derby at the weekend.

And he believes his side are better than Deila's team after studying leagues in Europe.

Hareide said: "We are better than Celtic. We are better than Rosenborg and we are better than FC Copenhagen.

"In Norway, Molde might push us close.

"We are a very good team, who will take a lot of stopping and we are especially strong at home.

"I would welcome another chance at European football in a few months."
