Hibernian
Graham Stack: Left to bask in the occasion but was caught sunning himself when he strayed from his line at Fallon's equaliser. Went off with a hamstring injury midway through the second half 6
Matt Doherty: Was caught in the face by two elbows which left him prostrate on the ground. In between that, he showed himself to be a tidy and committed defender 7
Paul Hanlon: Overshadowed by team-mate McPake but effective. Can afford to look forward to his next Hampden trip 7
James McPake: Coped well with Aberdeen's rugged forwards and one clearance led to his side's winner. Otherwise, a committed display, although his header lacked conviction in the lead-up to the equaliser 8
Pa Kujabi: Seemed in danger of being trampled by a physically imposing Aberdeen side but then the match started. Rarely discomfited and contributed to Hibs' attack with a low drive past a post 7
Tom Soares: A quiet afternoon and had a tendency to drift from relevance. Was never required to impose himself mind you, and seemed comfortable enough when you noticed him 6
Jorge Claros: Not a notable performance but the Honduran circulated possession well and is always willing to put his foot on the ball. Tired as match wore on and was replaced 7
Isaiah Osbourne: A few nice touches and offers a physical presence in midfield. Not much of an attacking threat but can be content with his contribution to the afternoon 7
Ivan Sproule: Fluorescent orange boots were the most conspicuous aspect of the Northern Irishman but he was a willing runner and tried to get involved in Hibs' forward forays 6
Garry O'Connor: Gave Hibs the lead with one delicate touch, and put them in the final with another. Had the awareness and ability to feed off Aberdeen's struggling defence 8
Leigh Griffiths: Has a habit of spitting the dummy but was celebrating with one in his mouth after scoring a clinical winner late on. A lively and persistent threat for Hibs 8
Substitutes: Mark Brown (on for Stack 72) Stepped in after Stack was forced off and saw out the match without much bother 7 David Wotherspoon (on for Claros 67) Came on midway through the second half and slotted in well enough. Guilty of a lack of composure late on when he shot wide instead of shifting the ball out to Sproule 7
George Francomb (on for O'Connor 90) His introduction afforded the man he replaced a rousing reception but resulted in little else N/A
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
