EMILIO IZAGUIRRE last night insisted he wants to stay at Celtic for the rest of his career.
The Honduran international has been at Parkhead for five years and has made almost 200 appearances for the champions.
And he's set to give Celtic a further boost by pledging to extend his stay in Glasgow.
Izaguirre said: "My future is here at Celtic. I would find it very difficult to leave Celtic.
"Celtic have given me everything. I have six winners medals and I am about to win a seventh. The fans love me and I am grateful to them.
"This season has been very good. We have already won the League Cup and we are very close to winning the title again. So to leave would be very hard because I am so happy here."
But the 28-year-old looks set to give Celtic a pre-season blow after he performed a u-turn over the summer Gold Cup tournament.
Izaguirre initially stated he would not play for Honduras in the summer Gold Cup tournament, which created a storm of protest in his homeland.
But he revealed he has had second thoughts and will wait for Celtic and the Honduran FA to hold talks.
He said: "I have always given everything for Honduras. I have never refused to attend a game and I won't start now.
"The Celtic manager has told me I need a rest because I need to get the screws in my ankle from an operation removed once the season ends and need to rest.
"But I never said I wouldn't be going to the Gold Cup.
"Celtic and my Federation will speak about the time I need to recover. Once they reach an agreement I will follow that. But I would never say no to my country.
"I have 80 caps and played at two World Cups. I am very proud of playing for Honduras."
The club could increase its Spanish speaking contingent with a move for the Espanyol youngster Juanan Entrena.
The 18-year-old plays for the Barcelona outfit's juvenile side, who have just wrapped up the Spanish title.
Celtic's Head of Academy Scouting, David Moss, has watched Entrena and recommended that Celtic sign him.
Entrena has a year of his contract left at Espanyol and the Parkhead side would need to pay a development fee.
The midfielder swopped city clubs in 2013 when he moved to Espanyol from Barcelona.
And his form has impressed Celtic's network of foreign scouts, with the Hoops now ready to sign up the Spanish top talent.
