New Dunfermline keeper Bernardo Dominguez Fernandez is expected to arrive in the country this afternoon after the club yesterday received international clearance.

Jim Jefferies, the Dunfermline manager, moved to resolve his player shortage by snapping up the experienced Spaniard until the end of the season.

The Fife outfit only have the untried 18-year-old Ryan Goodfellow as back-up to Chris Smith after injury cut Iain Turner's loan spell from Preston short, while Paul Gallacher was ruled out for the season in January with a shoulder problem.

Dunfermline No.2 Gerry McCabe said: "We've got international clearance in for Bernardo and he should be in at the club on Tuesday.

"We'll see how Bernardo is during the rest of the week ahead of the Hearts game."
