Gary MacKenzie is being lined up for a permanent move to Blackpool this summer.

The nPower Championship outfit have reportedly begun talks with MK Dons in a bid to secure the 27-year-old Scotland squad defender before pre-season training kicks-off on June 21.

The former Dundee player, who started his career as a youth player at Rangers, impressed last term on loan with Paul Ince's side – where he partnered former Ibrox defender Kirk Broadfoot – but has another 12 months left on his current contract with the League One side.

Ince said: "We've been speaking to a lot of different people to find out who is available, who's not available and who we might be able to get out on loan. We've got many, many targets who we are still looking at."
