JACKIE McNAMARA hopes the wrangle over his departure from Partick Thistle will soon be cleared up.

The 39-year-old quit Firhill in February to succeed Peter Houston as manager of Dundee United but Thistle have yet to strike a compensation deal with the Tannadice club.

Thistle have received a letter from McNamara's representatives allegedly seeking a bonus payment from the first division champions.

The matter is currently in the hands of the club's lawyers, but McNamara said: "I can assure people I don't want anything from Partick Thistle, money-wise.

"Since I left there has been a lot of stuff come from the Partick Thistle side of things. Once it's resolved I'll come out and say my side of things. I think the way it has been handled has been very disappointing."
