Torbjorn Agdestein is likely to make his first competitive start for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Saturday's league match with St Mirren, despite joining the club only a week earlier.

The imposing Norwegian striker was signed after his release by Brighton and Hove Albion and impressed during a pre-season friendly with Brora Rangers.

His physique also provides a new dynamic for the Highland side. "We haven't really had a player of such presence and stature up front in the last few years," said Terry Butcher, the Inverness manager, who is also confident of having Richie Foran available to face St Mirren.

"He is tall, strong and takes the ball in very well to feet. Brighton actually paid £200,000 to bring him in from Norwegian club Stord II, so he has a bit of pedigree."
