MICHAEL PATON has been reunited with manager Allan Johnston after joining Dunfermline from Queen of the South.

The former Aberdeen forward, who played under Johnston at Palmerston Park, has decided to drop down to League One after his contract at the Dumfries side expired.

The 26-year-old made 24 appearances in the Queens side that finished fourth in the Championship last season.

Paton is the latest new recruit to be unveiled by the Fife outfit after Johnston recently snapped up defenders Jason Talbot, Callum Fordyce and Ben-Richards Everton.

Paton could be joined at East End Park by former Queens team-mate Stephen McKenna after the midfielder was also linked with Dunfermline.
