The St Johnstone assistant manager has been charged with preparing the team after the death of manager Tommy Wright's mother, May, at the weekend. Wright will not fly back to Scotland until hours before kick-off.
Last season, Davidson also stepped up to the plate when the Ulsterman underwent gall bladder surgery in Perth and was ordered by surgeons to rest up and steer clear of the ground.
"The main thing at the moment is that he's at home with his family," Davidson said. "We have been in constant contact. He's asked for videos of Spartak Trnava to be sent to him back home.
"[But] the boys take care of themselves, you rarely see a bad training session here."
